Sometimes a crochet project just needs a little bit extra, and this is crochet flower embellishment is one way to add it! I love using these simple flowers on ear warmers and bags. They are also cute on hats, headbands and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Easy Crochet Flower with a Video Tutorial
This small, 6 petaled flower is can be made with just three rounds of basic crochet stitches. It is easy enough for a beginner, and I have both right and left handed video tutorials for you to try out if you prefer the visual.

Easy Crochet Flower Embellishment - Free Pattern
Supplies:
- Yarn of any weight (the sample is made in worsted weight acrylic)
- 5.5mm Crochet Hook (I LOVE Clover Amour)
- Scissors - I always keep these travel scissors in my hook case
- Yarn needle
- Button for flower center (optional)
Abbreviations (written in U.S. terms):
- ch: chain
- st/sts: stitch/stitches
- sl st: slip stitch
- SC: single crochet
- HDC: half double crochet
- DC: double crochet

Pattern Notes
- The size of the flower will vary depending on your yarn and tension. The pictured sample made with worsted weight yarn has a diameter of approx. 3”

Instructions
Start with magic circle
Round 1: ch 1 and work 12 SC into the magic circle. Pull tight and join with a sl st to the first SC (12)
Round 2: ch 1, *SC, ch 3, SC in next stitch. Repeat from * around. You should have 6 ch 3 spaces. Join with sl st to first SC. (30 including ch sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, *SC, HDC, DC, HDC, SC in each ch 3 space. Repeat from * around. Attach with sl st to first SC. Fasten off. Attach in desired location by sewing a button over the center of the flower or by using the yarn tails to tie it in place. Weave in all ends.
