Yarn + Crayola Colors
Did you know that Lion Brand Yarn teamed up with Crayola to make some fun and bright new yarns?! The yarn that I used for this Rainbow Stripe Blanket is the Crayola Cake Yarn by Lionbrand. It highlights some classic crayola colors while incorporating an ombre effect, and being the sucker for bright colored yarn that I am - I HAD to try one of each color.

A Rainbow Blanket for Baby
One I saw the Crayola Cake Yarn in person, I knew I had to incorporate all the beautiful colors into one blanket! I paired it with the moss stitch to simply show off the bright colors and beautiful ombre. The two panels are reversed when they are seamed together to make an interesting color contrast within the blanket. This blanket is a perfect size for an oversized rainbow baby blanket, or you can easily adjust it to be larger or smaller as needed.

Make a Rainbow Blanket with Yarn from Your Stash
If you can’t get your hands on the Crayola Cake Yarn - have no fear! This blanket can easily be made with yarn you already have in your stash. It is made with worsted weight acrylic, and it would look awesome in different color schemes, too! So go shopping or raid your stash to make your next crochet blanket.

Connecting the Panels
Lay out both panels so that the red stripes on the first line up with the purple stripes on the second. Taking a long length of white yarn, hand sew the two panels together. If it helps, you can use safety pins or stitch markers to hold the panels together while you are sewing.
Adding the Border
Attach white yarn to one corner of the blanket. SC evenly around the edge, chaining 2 at each corner. Join with a sl st when you reach the beginning of your round. Ch 1 and SC one more round of border; working a (SC, ch 2, SC) into each ch 2 corner from the previous round. Join with a sl st at the beginning of the round. Tie off yarn and weave in all ends.
