Where I live, the cooler weather has been slowly coming and going...fluctuating by the day! This is the time of year that it is really nice to have an extra layer of warmth near by just in case. The crochet Open Air Market Wrap is the perfect pattern for just that occasion.
I've been loving my Open-Air Market stitch pattern because it is cozy without being too warm and bulky for this time of year! And the jewel-tones of this Lion Brand Landscapes yarn in 'Apple Orchard' are to die for! This is a beautiful, soft and shiny yarn with SUCH rich colors. In the summer time, I am a sucker for bright colors, but in September I am drawn to richer colors that remind me of fall and Christmas.
This is a simple repeat pattern that can be adjusted in length. Four skein of yarn makes a nice, long wrap. If you want something a little smaller, just leave off rows or decrease the width to make a scarf (Although maybe this could be considered one of those new, trendy super scarves?!)

- Lion Brand Landscapes: I used 4 skeins of the color 'Apple Orchard'
- J/6.0 Crochet Hook (I used Clover Amour)
- Yarn needle
- St: stitch
- Sl st: slip stitch
- Ch: Chain
- SC: Single crochet
- DC: Double crochet
- Ch stitches at the beginning of rows do not count as a stitch
- Gauge isn't important for the finished product
- Width can be adjusted by starting with a different number of chain stitches. Use any odd number x2.
Row 1: Starting in second ch from the hook, SC and continue to SC across (54). Turn
Row 2: Ch 1, SC across (54). Turn
Row 3-4: Ch 2, DC in 2, *Ch 2, skip 2, DC in 2, repeat from * across (you will have 13 ch 2 spaces)
Rows 5-6: Repeat row 2
Rows 7-8: repeat rows 3-4
Continue this repeat pattern until you reach your desired length, ending with two SC rows. My finished product was 122 rows total.
And you're done! Easy, elegant and practical all at the same time 🙂
