Use Caron Cakes Yarn to Crochet the Silhouette Mod Scarf
One of the things I love about Caron Cakes yarn is that it does the creative colorwork for me. I made the Silhouette Mod Scarf in the colorway Turkish Delight, and I can honestly tell you that I never would have come up with this color combo on my own! Golden honey, mauve, denim and cream are barely even colors I have in my stash. Yet here I am, loving this color combo - especially for fall! If these colors don't do anything for you, pick a different cake, your own color combo, or even just your favorite solid worsted weight yarn. This pattern is flexible!
This simple mod scarf is a modern triangle shaped scarf that is outlined in bobbles and adorned with tassels. The tassels are optional (you could swap them for pom poms or fringe too), but I think they give it a nice touch 😉 I wrote this pattern line by line for those of you who prefer it, but overall its a pretty simple 4 row repeat. So for those of you who don't want to follow along with 140 lines of pattern - no worries! - you'll be able to pick up the repeat pretty quickly.
Silhouette Mod Scarf - Free Crochet Pattern
Supplies:
- 1 cake of Caron Cakes yarn (‘Turkish Delight’ pictured) or approx. 383 yards of a comparable worsted weight yarn
- I/5.5mm crochet hook
- Scissors - I always keep these travel scissors in my hook case
- Yarn needle
- Pom pom maker (optional)

- HDC: Half double crochet
- HDC2Tog: Half double crochet two together
- DC: double crochet
- Bobble: *YO, insert hook into st, YO, pull through st, YO, pull through two loops, repeat from * 4 times always inserting hook into the same st (you will end up with 5 loops on your hook). YO, pull through all 5 loops.
Gauge
7 sts x 4 rows = 2” square in HDC
Finished Size:
- Width: 11.5"
- Length (without tassels): 64"
