This fast crochet hat is a free crochet pattern you will want to come back to again and again. It should only take about 30 minutes to make with chunky yarn from your stash. Keep reading for the free crochet pattern.

A Fast Crochet Hat for Men and Women
I happen to be publishing this pattern the weekend before Christmas. And while it will make an EXCELLENT last minute Christmas gift for men or women, I also want to stress that this hat can be made for lots of other reasons too. Got a new winter coat? Make a new matching hat! Did you just realize that none of your kids’ hats from last year fit anymore? Make them a few new hats (because you know at least one will be lost over the course of the winter).

Chunky Yarn to Crochet Quick Hats
This type of functional and practical crochet pattern is my absolute favorite. Using super chunky yarn means you get a lot of bang for your buck when you consider how quickly you can finish these hats. It also means that they are extra warm AND super cute. Winning all over the place.

A Unisex Hat Pattern in Sizes Baby Through Adult
I wrote this free hat pattern in sizes Toddler through Adult because I think the style of it can pretty much fit any age, boy or girl, man or woman. I didn’t write it up in a baby size just because the chunky yarn with a hat that small gets a little awkward, but if you want to size it down for a baby - be my guest! It wouldn’t be hard to do.

Finally, let me take a quick moment to mention that, though I call this hat the “30-Minute Chunky Hat”, that time will obviously vary from person to person. It took me about 30 minutes to make the adult sized hat. It may take you slightly more or less time depending on your speed.

- Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick (approx. 78 yards for the adult size; less for smaller sizes) or a similar Category 6 yarn.

- Yarn needle
